A roof has a minimum required live load? Yes, nearly every structural element has some sort of live loads on it. Roofs are not a typical part of a structure to occupy, however roofs are occasionally occupied, at least temporarily.

A typical roof live load is 20 psf and that is typically enough to account for people and equipment on the roof during construction and maintenance.
